According to The Wall Street Journal, Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox are evidently bidding on an original cast recording of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s music to receive theaters around the country.
The show stars Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, Jonathan Groff as King George III, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, Christopher Jackson as George Washington, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, and also Reneé Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler.
Back in 2016, Miranda disclosed that the actors covertly tape-recorded a run-through of the music and that it would be displayed in the future.
“What are we performing with that video footage? No idea. Throwing it in a vault at Gringotts awhile most likely,” he tweeted, referencing Harry Potter. “But we’re getting it.” Well, it looks like we lastly recognize.
