To celebrate PRIDE this year, Khrystyana wanted to create something similar to The REAL Catwalk to celebrate one of the LGBTQI+ area’s most vulnerable groups: trans ladies. She said, “Fifty years ago this month, trans ladies of color were instrumental in starting the queer satisfaction motion throughout the Stonewall Riots in New York.
The progression that the LGBTQIA+ neighborhood has actually made since then can be mapped back to the work of those women, like Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera. Yet, regardless of half a century of progress, trans civil liberties still fall back those of others in the LGBT+ area.”
Model, self-love supporter as well as lobbyist Khrystyana is celebrating the trans females area with a spiritual collection of photo pictures. As well as we’re in love with them.
Her current project is influenced by The REAL Catwalk, an everybody-welcome body positivity footway that occurs every year in Times Square, New York. Khrystyana founded the event, during which individuals of all physique, ethnic backgrounds, sexes and more are invited to commemorate themselves and each other by joining an underwear-only ‘catwalk’. It’s a wondrous statement of inclusivity and solidarity.
13 trans females integrated as designs for the day. They were styled by Guvanch in high-fashion garments from existing display rooms, as well as were fired by photographer Amanda Picotte. Both the girls’ garments and also shoot’s backdrops remain in the loveliest shades of pink as well as blue, with dashboards of white running throughout, to symbolise the colours of the Trans Flag. “The raised as well as classy visual is deliberate, intending to supply necessary depiction that is not externalized,” Khrystyana told us. “I’ve been deeply influenced by the unfortunate occasions that trans neighborhoods have been experiencing. Now, even more than ever, I want to highlight the voices of trans females.”
And that she did. The resulting photographs are definitely beautiful– see for yourself below.
